Many communities went from business as usual to total lockdown with the COVID-19 virus.
The Lakehills Civic Center like many non-profit organizations was asked to close its doors till further notice to limit contact and the spread of the virus, especially for high risk communities. Two of the prime demographics that we serve are seniors and the school aged kids in the community.
The FAMILY HOME GARDEN PROJECT was launched as a way to stay in touch with all age levels in the community while doing something that would also put food on the table when there is uncertainty how grocery stores and markets would be affected by limited contact, risks of infection, changing store hours and hiccups in delivery schedules, delays or shortages..
We will meet in a live chat weekly at 10 AM on Saturdays and also on the website 24/7 where a blog, tips and how-to guides will help everyone to plan for success, share knowledge and the results of their hard work and efforts.
